Privacy
PromptWipe collects no personal data. Your images are read and cleaned inside your browser and are never sent to a server: the site has none that could receive them. There is no account, no cookie and no analytics or advertising script. Only Cloudflare, which hosts the pages, sees the usual technical data of a web request.
Are my images sent anywhere?
No. When you drop, choose or paste an image, the page reads it in your browser’s memory, shows what it contains and builds the cleaned copy there. The file never travels over the network, and the cleaned copy is handed to you as a local download.
This is enforced, not only promised: every page is served with a Content Security Policy that sets
connect-src 'none', which forbids the page from opening any connection after it has loaded. You
can check it yourself in a few seconds, as explained in How it works.
Do you collect any personal data?
No. There is no account, no form, no newsletter, no cookie and nothing stored in your browser. The pages load no third-party script, font or widget, and no audience measurement tool: we chose not to install one, even a “privacy-friendly” one, because such a script reads the page you are on, and that page shows your prompt.
What does the host see?
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any web host, Cloudflare’s servers receive the technical data of each request for a page: your IP address, your browser’s user agent, the address requested and the time. Cloudflare uses them to deliver the pages and protect the service, under its own privacy policy. These requests concern the pages of the site only, never your images. PromptWipe does not use these data to measure its audience or to build profiles.
How do you know whether people find the site?
Through Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. They give aggregated figures about the searches that led to the site (queries, clicks, positions). Google and Microsoft collect these figures on their own search engines, under their own policies. The only thing PromptWipe adds for that is a site verification tag in the page header and a key file used to tell search engines about new pages: neither runs any code nor collects anything.
What about the Copy buttons and pasting?
The Copy buttons write a value (a prompt, a workflow, the diagnostic) to your clipboard, locally. Pasting an image works only when you paste it yourself: the page then reads the image from that paste event, and from nothing else in your clipboard.
What happens when I follow a link to GitHub?
Feature requests, bug reports and the source code live on GitHub. When you open those links, you are on GitHub, and GitHub’s privacy statement applies. The diagnostic that PromptWipe offers to copy for a bug report holds the structure of the file only (format, sizes, list of blocks), never a value read from it and never its name. Do not attach a private image or your prompt to a public report.
Who can I contact?
Since PromptWipe holds no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. For questions about this page, open a discussion on GitHub. For data processed by the host, see Cloudflare’s privacy policy. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
